Grand Seiko, The Name that Should've Never Been
Grand Seiko to me is one of the highest and most precisely finished watches to grace the watch market. They are birthed from extreme precision and a distinct design language that is meant to invoke the connection of time and nature. Their dress watches are among the greatest on the market and the watch making technology at play here is truly unique. But what I want to talk about is the name Grand Seiko. In the 1960s Seiko was struggling to make a name in the luxury world of watches and it birthed two subdivisions King Seiko and Grand Seiko. Both of these companies worked independently and competed directly with each other to produce luxury time pieces.
